WatchPAT ONE: The First Disposable Polysomnograph
WatchPAT ONE is a non-invasive device designed for home and ambulatory care to diagnose obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). With the same ease of use, reliability, and accuracy as other devices in the polysomnograph range, WP1 allows patients to monitor themselves at home safely, eliminating the need to visit a medical center.
In addition to being a diagnostic system for detecting sleep-related breathing disorders, WP1 can provide a hypnogram representing the various detected sleep stages:
- REM sleep
- Light sleep
- Deep sleep
- Wakefulness
The innovation of the device lies in its ability to achieve an accurate diagnosis without the use of a nasal cannula, identifying autonomic and vegetative responses that regulate the respiratory phase. It precisely calculates clinical parameters related to sleep-disordered breathing (SDB), such as AHI (Apnea-Hypopnea Index), RDI (Respiratory Disturbance Index), and ODI (Oxygen Desaturation Index), using actual sleep time and the complete sleep architecture (deep, light, REM). This provides the physician with a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s condition.
With a simple smartphone app, the data collected during the study can be transmitted directly to the cloud. At the end of the monitoring period, the patient will receive a detailed report.
